Corporate Communications

Some problems call for truly creative solutions. Sometimes organizations can’t go forward by doing the same old thing.  Increasingly, in today’s economy, creativity in strategic planning, product development and organizational problem solving is vital simply for survival—much less quantum success.

  • Is your organization facing an imminent challenge that seems unsurmountable?
  • Is your staff bored and stuck in ineffective routines?
  • Do you want to increase productivity and teamwork?

Creative thinking, planning and action first requires considering alternative perspectives, pathways to development and advancement. We wear out the phrase, “out-of-the-box thinking” often without really experiencing what it means, much less actually accomplishing such an outcome.  The reality is that in most cases, most organizations can’t change the way they approach challenges because they continually approach the problem with the same people, the same perspectives and the same tactics.

What if you really could change the way your organization looked at a problem?  What if you really could change your perspective, consider alternative strategies, designs and approaches?  What if you could really find out why you’re not communicating with one another as a team and fix it?  What might that mean for your organization and its chances for future growth and success? And what if you could enjoy the problem solving process at the same time?

Corporate communications workshops offered by Cynthia Schildhauer are designed specifically to enable groups to see and assess problems from new and potentially more successful perspectives, while encouraging individual creativity to come forth as a catalyst for positive change.

Cynthia's approach involves five critical steps:

  1. Challenge clarification—involving a one-on-one conversation between Cynthia and the project manager to identify and evaluate project objectives, concerns, stakeholders and resources;
  2. Group work—comprising activities undertaken by Cynthia with group members to create process awareness, engender buy-in and create necessary team dynamics;
  3. Problem definition and conceptualization—featuring a series of activities specifically devised for the client and guided by Cynthia through which participants “discover” (and reach consensus) on the challenge(s) facing the group;
  4. Problem solution—encompassing the input of each team member enabling all involved to become part of the identified preferred approach or alternative; and
  5. Project wrap-up—involving a presentation of the group’s proposed approach to the project manager followed by a one-on-one debrief and summary between Cynthia and the project manager.

Unlike traditional consulting engagements where an outside party brings “wisdom” into the group, this approach focuses on discovering the solution from within the group.  Outcomes are easier to implement and more effective. More progress can be made in less time, with less unproductive disruption.

Individuals feel energized because they have engaged in a playful, creative and effective problem solving process. Many participants find they come away "fired up" to continue creative pursuits, at work and at home.
